The practice of navigation, of course, was radically revolutionized by GPS.[/quote]It's 50 years since my Dad (and others) came up with the celestial transformation as a way of selling to the Navy his TIMATION (for TIMe navigATION) satellite based navigation system. Thus, they showed how time differences in a navigation ssytem should be equated to angles in clestial navigation which Navy officers understood.
