Midway Airport in Chicago occupies the school section and is rented from the school district for that purpose. When you drive north or south in Chicago and you cross North Avenue you make a small jog to the left because you are crossing a township border and the survey must adjust the grid due to the spherical earth and they make these adjustments at the township borders.
