I've had this little piece of paper folded up in my wallet for more than forty years. It is a table of observed altitudes for the sun and stars when measured with a sextant altitude of ZERO of with just the eyeball using the natural horizon from an aircraft. I just noticed that the star column is useless since I didn't know about extensction when I made the table.
