Peter,
Measuring your image Moon diameter (Earth shine) directly on my laptop by tape measure resulted in an observed Mars lunar distance of 1° 22.5' far limb and Venus lunar distance of 1° 57.2' far limb. Using Frank's lunar calculator had a 0.3' error for Mars and a 2' error for Venus if Sunnyvale is used as the place of observation at 18:00:00 PDT 2/20/2015. In the ballpark I hope. Did you note the exact time of the snap ?
