Daytime Venus showed nice through 7x50 binoculars and the 7x35 sextant optic but it was not visible in the water artificial horizon. Venus finally showed in the artificial horizon when the Sun was 5 degrees below the horizon. Attached are Venus are Sun observations using a Tamaya Jupiter sextant with a 7x35mm optic. The reductions were by polar coordinate formula using a Casio fx 300es.
