Hi Tony,
The Python code should be pretty portable - I'm running Ubuntu, but ant flavour of Linux should be easy. The code in the attachment from 2017 should be OK but lost all its indentation when I extracted it from the pdf, which gave rise to a bunch of syntax problems.
Don't know what the capability of gnuplot is - I had an interesting time with some of the graphical features in python...
