Given what you have said, buy an Astra IIIB, lightly-used on ebay. You can expect to pay about $300, maybe a little less. Or you could stay smart and stick with the Davis plastic sextant that has worked so well for you. You do not need a more expensive sextant to circumnavigate the globe. Why not buy another Davis sextant for a third of the price and store it away as a pristine backup?
