    I had not thought about school holidays. In my day there were two school holidays a year - IIRC one was called the "August" holidays. Times have changed and my grandaughters always seem to be on holiday.

    Something I have not determined is what day of the week was 18th Aug 1950? I asked Mr Google but suprisingly he did not know. I am sure that there is an algorithm I can use. Can anyone  tell me the day? I am ure that it is on-topic for this forum.
