    Seen from here, about 3 hours after Sun set, in Azimuth close to 080° with Jupiter just above the horizon and Castor and Pollux above Jove: all 3 have a relative appearance extremely close from the one on the picture.

    To correct for the slight adjustment required in the Jupiter - Twins tilt, I would then surmise: Latitude close to N40° and some 3 hours after Sun set.

    One of the twins is a double star (not checked yet, but methinks Castor is the one).

    By the way, I am living in Vendée, about 35 NM from Les Sables d'Olonne as a sea-gull flies.
