I was participating in a recent discussion on the Cruisers Forum about the current GPS jamming taking place in the southeastern U.S., which was first mentioned here by Gary LaPook (thanks, Gary). In that thread, I mentioned that my Android phone receives signals from the GPS and GLONASS constellations [only]. A member of the CF then directed me to an article written by the developer of the GPS Status Android app which *might* explain why I don't see any Galileo satellites.
I could be wrong, but I seem to remember at least some NavList members in the U.S. claiming that they *do* see Galileo satellites on their receivers. Is that indeed the case? Can any NavList members in the U.S. confirm that they are receiving Galileo signals on their devices? I'd be interested to know whether this is a hardware/software issue or a political issue.
Thanks!
