That's a surprise for your recording system Gary. It’s usually infallible. I had to check which Dave was referred to. I had to go back to 1st March 2019 to find it was me NavList: Wind Velocity from Three Drifts (144470) (fer3.com) . My memory record is birth to age 21; then nothing after that until ten minutes ago, sometimes less. Chichester of course used only two drift winds, flying from New Zealand to Australia, but he had a constant check of drift as he flew along by assessing the path of the sea against his lower mainplane from very low altitude. He didn’t have to wander down to the rear of the cabin to ‘take a drift’. DaveP
