At Suez we clear customs for Djibouti(11d 36.5'N 43d 07.5'E). Since we
do not have Tourists Visas for Egypt we cannot land until we reach
Djibouti. Because of the political situation it is recommended that we
transit the Red Sea direct to Djibouti. We have arranged with our shipping
agent to forward parts and supplies to us there. We Plan to depart at
SunRise(SR) on 10/06/1996.

1) What is the Zone Time(ZT) of SR at Suez on our departure date?
-- --------------------------------------------------------------

We depart the Suez Yacht Club, as we exit the Gulf of Suez we take a
departure fix from two points of land at 06:35:00 giving us a position of
(29d 51.0'N 32d 33.0'E). We set a TC of 164d down the Gulf of Suez. Wind
is Force 4 from 330d. Current 5.0 Kts, Set 155d. Var0.0d Dev4dE. Speed 9 Kts.

2) What is our Compass Course(CC) and Speed Made Good(SMG)?
-- ------------------------------------------------------------

3) What is the distance from our departure point(29d 51.0'N 32d 33.0'E)
    to Djibouti(11d 36.5'N 43d 07.5'E)?
-- --------------------------------------------------------------------

4) Based on our SMG how many hours would it take to reach Djibouti?
-- ----------------------------------------------------------------

At Noon we try for a LAN. But the horizon is obscured by sand and
dust clouds.

5) At the SMG, what is our DR position at 11:53:00ZT based on our
    TC 164d?
-- -------------------------------------------------------------

In order to remain in the center of the Gulf of Suez. We head for the
Strait of Jubal at the entrance to the Red Sea on TC of 139.5d.

6) What is the new Compass Course (CC)?
-- -------------------------------------

As we sail down the Gulf of Suez, we again are forced to make numerous
course changes to avoid traffic. We sight the light on Shadwan
Island(27d 29.0'N 34.02.0'E) abeam.

7) Using our last Estimated Position(EP) and what is this distance?
-- -----------------------------------------------------------------

8) Using our SMG what is the ZT and Date of sighting the light abeam?
-- -------------------------------------------------------------------
