We have been sailing under a solid overcast. Our DR position is 
12d 40.9'S  98d 01.6'E, 07/10/1996 @ 13:44:00GMT. The TC is 122.7d, 
Var 3dW, Dev 4dW. Current Set 030d Drift 8 Kts. Wind is 15 Kts from 090d.
Speed is 10 Kts.

1)  What is the TC and Dist to Cocos/Keeling Island(12d 02.0'S  
     97d 00.0'E)?

It appears that we have missed the island. Taking the consideration
of weather and information from our Pilot Chart of The Indian Ocean 
for July. We plot a course for our next waypoint, Cape Leeuwin, Australia.

We log our turn to the new course at 19:00:00 of 07/10/96. We run
into a period of intermittant rain showers and poor visibilty.

5)  Using the speed made good of Q4, what is the Estimated Position
    (EP) at 12:15:00 @ 7/14/96?

Just after plotting our position the Sun peeks out through a cloud 
and we grab a quick sight.

hh:mm:ss in UTC/GMT. Silicon Sea is a medium displacement sailing vessel, 40
Feet LOA. 38 Feet LWL; Cutter rigged. Looks a lot like a Mason. Can tack to
45d. Dist to Horizon: Nmi = SQRT HE@mtrs x 2.07; Nmi = SQRT HE@ft x
1.17. Water Tank = 60 gal(Imp.). Fuel Tanks = 90 gal (Imp.). Fuel
consumption .450 gal/Hr at 8.3 Kts.
