I like that idea David.
We do have a small caravan but the weather being rather benign in our neck of the woods and easy to find a spot where there is no one about, it is no drama to stand outside.
In my earlier years when I was teaching myself the art of the sextant I was driving about the countryside quite a bit and used to select a convenient location to take a sun shot, record the numbers and work it all out when I arrived back home. I knew the lat/long of these locations from maps.
One afternoon, AH perched on the car and in the midst of a sight I was aware of a car pulling up right in front of me. I finished doing my thing, looked at the car and the kind gentleman inside informed me, quite seriously, as to where I was. I thanked him kindly for the information. Considering I was parked on the side of Highway I and near a well marked roadside pub he obviously thought I was the village idiot lost and adrift or, as is being discussed elsewhere, one of those strange Cellnav Druids.
The boat sounds great, at least you have some privacy as you perform the dark arts.
