Another way to go about it is to go to the "Archive" and click on either "Current Posts" or "20xx All Posts". Then, click on one of the arrows over the post titles. Messages will then be sorted alphabetically (ascending or descending, depending on which arrow) by title, including all replies to the same title.
I agree that NavList is not like what many people are used to in terms of modern "forums", but - once you learn how to use it - it is at least as customizable and useful. Just ... differently. :D
