That site is a marketing product of Celestaire. Marketing is a legitimate activity of every business, but I would have to say that the email is deliberately misleading. A copy of the email was forwarded to me (I did not receive one directly). The mailing address in the footer is Celestaire's business address in Wichita. This is not connected with NavList, of course.
If you visit the "blog" articles linked to the site, you will see the name "Ken Gebhart, Jr." Note that this is not the Ken Gebhart who founded Celestaire and who has posted NavList messages for many years. Ken Sr. is gradually retiring from the business, and I wish him all the best, as I am sure all NavList members do. Ken Jr. has no background in celestial navigation whatsoever, by his own admission.
