There's really nothing to it. The process might make a nice web project for some middle school students scattered around a hemisphere of the globe.
If you visit http://nighskylive.net , you will find photos of the whole sky taken nearly simultaneously at different points scattered around the world. It might be an interesting project for young astronomy students to attempt to deduce the observatory location by looking at the zenith and meridian stars in each image.
