William Hawes, you asked:
"The Celestaire 249 Vol 1 Epoch 2015 at
http://www.celestaire.com/Pub-249/View-category.html
is 353 pages but is over 34 times larger at 171.29 MB.
Quality of both documents seems to be about the same. How come the Celestaire document is so large?"
The old file was vector-based. The new file uses page images instead.
Of course 171 megabytes was once rather inconvenient for a download and perhaps an issue for storage. Now it's nothing. These days, you would have trouble finding a USB flash drive SMALLER than that size. For most standard broadband users, it's a three-minute download. Even on my smartphone, it downloads in under four minutes.
