    Accuracy question: kneeling or standing
    From: Greg B
    Date: 2014 Feb 24, 12:08 -0500

    Hi All,
Accuracy question: Is it better to be kneeling or standing when using a AH on land?
I attached a little sketch of what I am asking. I remember seeing a picture of
something called an "explorers kit" from the 1890's or early 1900's it was basically
just a AH pan & cover, a mercury flask and a sextant stand ( looked to be about 1 1/2 ft. high )
I am not interested in using a mercury horizon - only ascertaining if closer is better in terms of
accuracy; i.e.; the sextant stand, or kneeling.
    Thanks,
           ~Greg
