Interesting points about Polaris. I always shot Polaris as the last observation at the end of civil twilight for backup. A Tamaya NC 88 computer was generally used for reductions because it contained a full almanac including planets and Polaris. I seldom used the fix function which would have saved applying intercepts the wrong way on a few occasions.
