    Although email travels at the speed of light, it stops somewhere mid-Atlantic.  I was responding to the Bill Morris post, and had not at the time seen your latest photos.

    I am referring to the later , bigger, EBS built Small Craft Precision Sextant, still marketed in the 70s(?), described in Bill Morris' annex.

    The Barker box sextant you have, with telescope, seems a good candidate for the sextant Chichester used crossing the Tasman. Nevertheless, my comments stand.  Interestingly, your vernier is upside down, whilst the later one in right way up.  Yours would be easier to stow in a small aircraft.
