Your discussion of the JPL work on planetary ephemerides reminds me of my first spacecraft, Mariner 2 to Venus in 1962. The JPL deep space network had just completed a radar bounce off Venus, to increase the precision of the astronomical unit so that we could make a close approach to the planet. Without that, the mission would not have been possible. Jim Wilson ____________________________________________________________ Hotel Hotel pics, info and virtual tours.
