Paul H, you wrote: "While looking for something else in Google I came across a digitized 1822 book by Thomas Arnold: "The American Lunarian and Seaman's Guide"." If you didn't see Henry H's posts about this book a few years ago, go to the archive at www.fer3.com/arc and enter 'Arnold Lunarian' in the 'Google the archive' box. This book seems to have found relatively little commercial success in the era. Arnold's lunar method was almost the same, but not quite as efficient, as Bowditch's Principal Method which had been available since 1807. -FER --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ To post to this group, send email to NavList@fer3.com To , send email to NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
