An interesting series Navigation of Books by the same author

I recently acquired a little very readable book first published in 1952 and still being published in 1969 called ‘Little Ship Astro-Navigation’ by Lt Cdr (Sp), RNVR M. J. Rantzen.  It’s very pre-electronic calculator and pre GNSS, but interesting, nevertheless.  Unlike many of my gifted or second-hand books on celestial navigation, which usually arrive pristine beyond the first few pages, this one has been filled with hand-written notes all the way through. A good sign methinks. I was sufficiently impressed to go to Abe Books online and buy two other books in the series: 'Little Ship Navigation' and 'Little Ship Handling Motor Vessels'.  The first, which has been opened, is very much everything you needed to know and do pre-GNSS, and the second, which appears to never have been opened, consolidates what the average amateur sailor takes years to acquire by experience plus a bit more which you’d probably never considered.  There's also 'Little Ship Meteorology', but I thought three new books were enough for one week.  DaveP
