    Alan,

Ahh, Pittsburgh. Former home of my former employer.  Flew into Pittsburgh more times than I'd like to remember.  Always missed my connection on the way home due to the plane coming into Pittsburgh late.  Fond memories....NOT.

District 1 of the United States Power Squadrons is pretty fortunate in that six of the squadrons are right on the water, six are about 30-45 minutes away, and only one is about an hour away.  The courses allow artificial horizons to be used because of all the inland squadrons.  Bubble horizons, however, are not permitted.

    Stan

    Stan K:
Fe the artificial horizon, in particular the Davis version, and problems of wind driven ripples, I have yet to find them a problem. The erectable sides and colored plastic panels, I broke the glass panels, work quite well as "wind shields". A real sea horizon would be better, but living in Pittsburgh, PA, I'm somewhat far removed from the nearest one.
    Alan
