Bruce - Your question about the possible substitution of red wine brought to mind the habit of 19th century English watercolourists working in nature in the winter, taking a flask of gin to mix with the rinse-water, assuring that the water did not freeze. Any sacrifice for your art is commendable. Hope your research on this is full-bodied, and not too dry. Marvin Marvin Sebourn osugeography@aol.com
