When you can: post on www.afnoa.org or www.usaf-nav-history.com and chat with USAF navs that used the A-10. Or just join AFNOA (Air Force Navigators Observers Association) and do an article for the news letter: DR AHEAD.

Our current ALL Navs All types Reunion is Sept 17-18 at Randolph AFB (in a week). Our next AFNOA REUNION is Sept 6-7-8 2011 at Las Vegas. Join and come. AFNOA is the group that just got the USAF to establish a "Navigators" History Archive" at Maxwell AFB, AF/HRA.

The Official ALL NAV (Instrument Archive) we just established at the Mighty Eighth Museum at Savannah GA. Go Dr. Vivian Roger-Price there for assistance. They have the most comprehensive AF Nav library in the world there.

Great to see the interest in celestial lives on! Ron Barrett, President AFNOA

Also, look at these prior posts:

Also remember (very important) do not apply a semi-diameter correction when using  a bubble sextant since you are measuring to the center of the sun or of the moon. If using the Navy website to do the computation back out the S.D. correction and use only the refraction correction 9you can ignore the parallax correction.)

    > Frank, I'll use this moment as my opportunity to step out of the shadows and become a NavList contributor. First, some personal info: I'm active duty Air Force currently stationed in Okinawa. Several years ago I took an interest in Cel Nav after reading South by Sir Ernest Shackleton. After reading a few books on the subject, countless Google searches and a lot of time spent at the beach, I've taught myself to consistently plot a fix within 4-5 miles of my known position with a Davis Mark 15. I've recently completed the ASA 101 and 103 (104 scheduled for Oct) sailing courses and have put some of my skills to use. Up to this point I've simply been an observer of NavList. Not because I intend to simply plunder its resources without giving something in return, but because I didn't believe I could contribute much to the conversation at my level. I've come a long way and I'm ready to jump in!

With the help of Bill Morris's manual I've successfully restored this unit and I would like to learn more about its use. I do not intend to hijack this thread, however, in their absence I'll keep it going.
