The information about Wittenberg is halfway down page 125 of 'The Voyages of William Baffin' (Hakluyt). His four foot quadrant is mentioned on p.44 On the small island in Cockin Sound where the observation was made, Baffin later mentions an abundance of herbs which they boiled in beer and which appeared to do them a power of good. Well, its just a thought.
