I don't know that this will help but
Bowditch's formulas are consistent.
To see this
Let Rft stand for the unit squareroot of ft, Rm stand for unit of squareroot of m.
Let SR(x) stand for square root of the number x.
Assume D(in nm) = 1.17 nm/Rft x SR( H (in ft)) is true.
Given 1 in = 2.54 cm then 1 ft = .3048 m
so 1 Rft = SR(.3048) * Rm
substitute into assumed equation
D(in nm)= [1.17 nm/ SR(.3048)*Rm ]* SR( H (in m))
D(in nm) = 2.12 nm/Rm * SR( H( in m))
therfore assumed equation equivalent to the ending formula.
