Why Frank as the owner/moderator of this list (who I'm sure puts in a lot of thankless work to keep it operating as smoothly as it does) puts up with the personal attacks from George is beyond me. If it were my to-do both him and the other troll would have been booted from the list a long time ago.

    George claims:

I have tried to follow what, exactly, Joe had meant in an earlier posting
when he used the idiom "sweet spot" in the context of positioning a fluxgate
compass. It was not a term I understood. It's given rise to a few emails,
back and forth, but even so, I'm still unclear about his meaning, and
    awaiting a reply.

Oh come on George, how can you struggle with understanding what a 'sweet spot' refers to in this context?  Is 'the most suitable location' any clearer to you?

As to your other pious hope that "posters should avoid personal comments", if only you weren't such a persistent offender yourself!
