Alex: I also bought a 5851 on ebay and was very happy with the result. I got the sextant, Bakelite carrying case, battery case, and some spare light bulbs. The sextant was perfect in every way although it took me a while to figure out how to form the bubble. My sextant has the averager and lights (with battery case) for reading the scales with but I wouldn't think that was important. As I understand things, the radioactive substance used to illuminate the bubble has a very long half life time so there's no need to worry about that. You should be able to walk the seller through forming the bubble. Let me know if you need directions. I think I paid about $150 plus shipping in an auction. Precision is no better than 1 minute.
