The earlier C.Plath attachment is the one to which I am referring. It has a provision for adjusting the size of the bubble which I believe is a crucial feature. A photograph of one can be found on page 386 of Dutton's, 12th edition (article 2206 provides a brief discussion on bubble sextants). I had one of the Cassens and Plath models that you referred to and after a few weeks, returned it to the dealer. I simply did not find that it performed to my satisfaction.
