On the other hand all things come to those that wait. I was able to purchase the MS-733 high end Tamaya (Spica?) for $450 after watching the ebay sextant list for almost a full year. It was a "buy it now" price and I lucked onto the offer within minutes of the posting after 11 PM east coast time, with the minimum bid being $300. Lots of pictures of good quality allowed me to decision to offer the buy it now price immediately. Granted that buying through ebay is somewhat risky for a quality object the price may justify the risk. The sextant and box is in absolutely pristine condition and has standard scope (4X40) and optional binocular scope (7X35). Helps to be lucky but being diligent checking the offers and knowing model types and expected value helps because in many cases you need to decide quickly. It is also true that really good deals are somewhat rare. Jim Dullea
