Anybody who has lusted after a C. Plath sextant but put off the purchase will probably have to contend wiith ebay, According to an item in Ocean Navigator for May/June, Weems and Plath bought the last 16 new ones, and had sold all but four by press time in mid March. Being retired, I avoid thinking about objects of lust, but anyone who has ever handled one of these gorgeous instruments may feel a twinge of regret.
