Last night, I pretty much used the download procedure that George Istok suggested. It worked fine for me. Using Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6. Acrobat Reader Version 5. This file is 10.6 MB. The document contains 171 pages. I have never before dealt with a pdf document that big and can see how the size might be a problem for some systems. Herbert Prinz P.S. Speaking about problems: Lurkers in the "Grenadine Lunar Distances" may be interested to know that I was going to reply to Arthur and Fred. But I lost my rather lengthy message yesterday in a Netscape Navigator crash and have not yet been able to recover it. P.P.S. And speaking about lurking... I have been sailing on my 36' cutter in the past years between New York and Maine. My true off shore experience has been gained in working as delivery crew between the East Coast and the Virgin Islands and also on a double handed Atlantic crossing. I love, practice and teach celestial navigation because history of astronomy is my hobby. When push comes to shove, I use GPS, just like Bowditch, who also used the latest technology available to him.
