    Bill B:

Funny you should mention, of all the slide rules that one used to see, no few hanging from belt loops, the Post Versalogs, which I think were not so often encountered, or not as often as the K & E's and Dietzgens. As to calculators, especially the one mentioned, I'm not familiar with that one, carrying an extra is a good idea, and at the price mentioned, likely dooable. As to my old HP 11-C, they fit nicely in a shirt pocket, especially those that were "buttonable".

By the way, getting back, briefly, to slide rules and ancient history, did you ever come upon the circular slide rules, ala Gilson? They were made in 4.5" and 8.5" dia models.I believe there was a 12" dia. model too, never saw one of those though. Anyhow, the 4.5" size would fit neately into a shirt pocket, while the 8.5" items would fit into a book, serving if necessary as a place mark. The 5" slide rules were pocket size too, but not as easy to read as the 10" models.

    Regards.

    Alan
