May-be Ken Gebhart who carries this instrument on his Celestaire catalog could kindly enlighten us about the performance and usefulness of the device compared with an aircraft bubble sextant.

    Hello Group,

I am currently thinking about purchasing Cassens and Plath Professional Bubble Horizon to be fitted on a TAMAYA lighted sextant.
But before forking out 900$ (Celestaire's Catalog price) I'd like to know what it is worth.
Does anyone on the List has experimented this bubble horizon? What kind of precision is achievable with a good marine sextant fitted with this device?
How does it compare to a good aircraft bubble sextant, say a British Hughes MkIXA?

Thanks for any comments and advice.

    JPP
