One nice point to the Freiberger Yacht Sextant (I haven't met the larger model) is that the standard telescope adjusts by revolving the FRONT rather than the REAR of the tube. This means that when you press your eye to the eye cup, the scope will not be moved out of focus by any motion from your head. And that, in turn, makes a consistent sharp focus easier. Someone at Freiberger was thinking ahead of C&P when they designed that. I'm not sure of Freiberger's US distribution now, as of about two years ago they didn't officially have any but several German, Dutch, and English dealers were selling them including shipping to the US very reasonably, I think around $550-$575 delivered. That might be an option to check out today.
