    Jean-Philippe,

You mean though the gap between the arc and the worm enclosure?
How can you sprey anything through such a small gap?

Of course. But with an open worm you see the dirt on it, and with
a closed one you dont. For example my last horizon alt oservation
was on a sand beach. And I worried, about this
sand, though we observed with Bill's Astra.

Yes, all Russian manuals and text books mention that SNO-M is
    less accurate,

I agree. Do you know by chance what is the rectangular cavity
in the back of the handle for?
    Just to decrease its weight?

I thought, perhaps they planned some electric illumination attachment?
The magnifier is great, but luminiscent illumination is too weak
    for twilights.
One can use it, of course, for a little notepad to record the
    observations.
One can make one, even with a pencil holder.

    Alex.
