It's the Sun wot missed it.
I grew up in big Navy town Norfolk, VA, and my brother, who still lives there, mentioned this at Christmas. It happened over a year ago on 20 March, reported by the NY Times. The CO was removed a month later, reported by the Norfolk Virginian-Pilot. At the end of October, the Military Times dug this out of Freedom of Information:
