Hi Thanks for the reply and the links.. The ARG-1 at Toronto Surplus is the Luftwaffe version. The price is Astronomical too. They were asking (wait for it) $8K, but then apparently reduced it to $5.5K(ish). Way way too much money in my opinion. The Luftwaffe versions are not that particularly rare. I heard that this one may have come from a museum collection, which help influence the high price. Looking through the eyepiece you can see the numbered grid. This is what I have read about the ARG-1. The ARG-1 contains a stereographic projection of the sphere engraved on glass, which is viewed through a microscope for sight reduction. It has has a bakelite body with a rheostat and base mounted illumination module. The circular glass screen has a highly accurate mercator projection engraved to the underside and a silk illumination cover. It has an azimuth and microscope eyepiece with adjustable cross hairs.
