OK, Greg. Thanks to Gilda I missed your location only by a little bit more than 100 m. Regarding the height of the oil rig. I tried to do this a bit more sophisticated by using also the radius of curvature at this latitude in east/west direction. Unfortunately I don't show this value in the output. I therefore had to pass step by step through the program. This showed to be very helpful for finding two more bugs. This radius of curvature is calculated but only the one for the "standard location" was used, and the refraction is calculated but the wrong formula is selected; the refraction is calculated for the apparent altitude instead of the astronomical one. (I can notice a smile in the face of Mr. G. Bennett.) Thank you also for the other two attachments. How do you call this bird? It seems to be a little bit bigger than a sparrow ;-) Marcel
