No, I can't. Those cautionary words at the top do the trick. I got it wrong, and he got it right. Sorry about that. In trying to implement the same job, what I have tried in the past is decoding that input as character-strings, looking at both the degrees and minutes entries, and only if there's a "-" character, or an "S" for South, to be found (or correspondingly, another letter if inputting longitude) is the absolute value of the numerical result inverted.
