Been waiting for the other shoe to drop, but no takers to date. If any
of you have rolled a sail out on grass, or sand near a water line, it
will get get damp rather quickly.

If stranded on a desert island and you get thirsty before you acquire
the kitchen ware to fashion the still, try this:

Dig/create a hole in the sand just above the tide line, as deep as the
angle of repose will allow. For extra credit, pour some seawater into
the hole. Place a vessel or makeshift vessel capable of holding water
in the center of the hole. Take whatever you have that is waterproof
and flexible to semi flexible and cover the hole, anchoring the edges by
any means possible in an attempt to create an airtight chamber. Place a
rock on this surface over the collection vessel, creating a concave
    surface (from top view).

Sunlight will raise the temperature above the dew point, water will
condense on the cover, and drip into the vessel.

Not enough for a bath, but every little bit helps. Most humans will die
of dehydration long before they die from starvation.

Once you have water, food and shelter etc., then you can move up
Maslow's Hierarchy to self actualization ;-)
