How does it derive elevation? Simply from the elevation provided by GPS or something more sophisticated?

Subject: [NavList] Elevation Chart (iPad/iPhone App)
Hey, guys, check out this two-dollar app. Since moving to La Jolla, I have been taking sights from a certain spot in a park at the shore. The spot is at the edge of a bluff over the beach and I estimated bluff height to be 40 feet, and my height of eye to be 45.5 feet. This app gives the elevation of the bluff as 41 feet. I'm five nine, so my HE is more like 46.5 feet. Even so, I'd say it's an accurate app. :-) Hewitt Sent from my iPad: http://fer3.com/arc/m2.aspx?i=124030
