Now you are in the same fix as the Mesopotamians. Latitude without longitude. I suggest stopping the rotation of the earth. That would salve a lot of problems. I think you could keep the orbit, just stop the rotation. Is that to much to ask?

For a rough latitude, with no instruments.... In the northern hemisphere, use a stick and the Pythagorean theorem to calculate the angle of Polaris. The angle to Polaris is roughly your latitude. I'm not sure on longitude, but you can find your local time with the same stick.
