Ken M, you wrote: "The sum seems to diverge at the 10th digit. Andrew Wiles can rest easy tonight!" Yep. It's a fun gag on a "normal" calculator. If you calculate the right side, and then calculate the left, they match. Better calculators, or any software that can do extended precision integer math, of course show that there is a small difference out there! By the way, if you want to see the influence of this particular math trick on education, try googling "Simpsons" and "Fermat". There are many links. The creators of "The Simpsons" did nothing more than drop that equation into the background of a scene. Now that's influence! -FER --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ To post to this group, send email to NavList@fer3.com To , send email to NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
