Alex.  You were at Notre Dame, home of the fighting Irish on Saint
Patrick's Day (wearin' of the green). The night before ND played in the
NCAA. Their mascot is a very short student dressed like a Leprechaun in
all green. As for a landing, if they were flying by visual flight
reference, they may well have missed Notre Dame totally due to the
abnormal refraction ;-)

Bill responded: Anything is possible.  But I do check my watch against
the "atomic" clock every day or so as my watch runs about 3" a month
fast. I also check it much less frequently against the GPS.  I have
NEVER seen it more than 1 second off the GPS, or more than 5 seconds in
a month or more off my wristwatch.

I have used it exclusively for AH shots and have never seen any results
that would suggest a one minute or 10'of an arc difference.

Unless I compare the clock against the GPS and/or wrist watch every
moment of every day, I can not be 100% certain. Even if I did, could I
possibly misread one of those comparisons? Yes.

My 2 atomic clocks are different brands. I did not repeat the error of
purchasing the same brand that performed poorly the first time.  Did
Gregg by (sic) the same brand the second time around, hence the
possibility of the (same) buggy software?

BTW, my good clock DOES show signal strength.

I would ask Greg if the clock eventually corrected itself, and if so
oevr what period of time?

Again, Feyman's "Cargo Cult Science." When the planes did not come to
the islander's makeshift airstrip they could not understand why. Were
the headphones they fashioned out of coconut shell halves the wrong
dimensions?

I am certain Gregg had a bad experience with his "atomic" clocks.  I am
not about to fudge my data based on one person's experience so it comes
out the way I wanted it to when I have zero evidence of a similar
occurrence with my equipment.
