Lars, Thanks! This is very valuable and remarkable piece of evidence. I managed to read the article, though the Google access to the book is restricted. All conditions they describe coincide with our conditions. Perhaps we indeed recorded some extraordinary phenomenon, if the watch was correct. The strongest evidence that the watch was correct is Bill's check against GPS somewhere in the middle of our observations, before the sunset. The strongest evidence that the watch was not correct (and there was no dip anmaly) is that the observations reduced with watch 1 min correction look quite good. On the span of 4 hours!) Before your message I thought that the second alternative is much more likely... Alex.
