    The point I have unsuccessful been trying to make with my eyeball comments is that placing the dot at the most probable place only places it at the most probable place and NOT the place. When in dangerous waters one would do well to remember that. So place the dot with a triangle or a protractor or an eyeball and look out the window. On a small boat on a calm day a mile plus or minus is a good fix.
